About Professor Darlene Lubbe
Professor Lubbe is internationally recognised as a pioneer in advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery, including minimally invasive transorbital approaches that provide access to deep sinus, skull base and selected intracranial pathologies via the orbit. She has played a leading role in the development and refinement of innovative surgical techniques aimed at reducing morbidity, shortening recovery times and improving patient outcomes.Her expertise encompasses the management of benign and malignant tumours of the nose, paranasal sinuses and skull base, pituitary lesions, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and complex inflammatory sinus disease.Professor Lubbe leads the Karl Storz Sub-Saharan Endoscopic Sinus and Skull Base Surgery Training Programme, through which she mentors surgeons across Africa in advanced endoscopic techniques. Her private practice is based at Mediclinic Cape Town in Oranjezicht, where she provides comprehensive ENT care with a particular focus on complex sinus and skull base disorders.
